Landside Marshal

Successful applicants will ensure the smooth operation of the Meet & Greet (M&G) Arrivals and Returns Yard, including greeting and mustering passengers arriving at the arrival lanes. They will have excellent verbal and numerical skills and previous experience working in a customer service role

Salary: £19,354.20 increasing to £21,428.76 after successful completion of probation + 17.5% pay per shift

Hours: Full time (40 hours per week). Permanent role

Job description:

  • Monitor the operation of automatic entry and exit gates in the triage area, reporting any issues to the appropriate channels.
  • Operate the car park barrier system, check customer documents
  • Ensure customers and returning drivers park in the correct spaces to allow for maximum capacity while adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Perform yard patrols as needed to ensure smooth operational flow
  • Assist in the removal (spin) of improperly parked vehicles using GoJacks (training provided)
  • ESD (Express Set Down) muster to ensure a smooth flow of traffic is maintained while reporting abandoned vehicles, left luggage or any safety concerns through the appropriate channels. Arrange other car parks if necessary.

A driver is required at Stansted Airport. You must be a safe and experienced driver with at least three years of driving experience, over the age of 25 and no more than 3 penalty points on your UK driving licence. The successful candidate will have a passion for teamwork and achieving set goals.

Salary: £10.92 per hour (including shift allowance) rising to £12.10 per hour (including shift)

Hours: 35/40 hours available

Grounds maintenance apprentice

The airport is looking for an all-weather apprentice to work in a ‘hands on’ role covering a range of practical tasks and learning specialist skills. Apprentices will attend university one day a week during term time and work for the airport four days a week.

Salary: £12,000 for two years of apprenticeship, £23,000 starting salary after apprenticeship

Hours: Full-time, two-year fixed-term contract

Job description:

  • Support the maintenance of landscape infrastructure, perform landscape maintenance at the highest level and observe horticultural best practices

  • Ensure that the green area around the airport is maintained and carry out scheduled maintenance programs as directed

Security agent

The airport is looking for a “people person” for one of the most vital roles at the airport, helping to ensure all passengers have a safe and enjoyable journey. The right candidate will have strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering excellent service, with a flexible approach to working hours.

Salary: £14.00 per hour (£12.63 during the initial 3 month trial period (including 17.5% shift allowance)

Hours: 20 and 32 hours per week. Early/late/mixed shift patterns – team preference should be discussed during interview

  • Perform hand searches of carry-on baggage and passengers, as required, in the central search security area
  • Use high-tech security equipment such as x-ray machines and body scanners
  • Patrolling the terminal
  • Verification of staff ID cards and passenger boarding passes before entering the security area

Kitchen Assistant, Escape Room

A Kitchen Assistant is needed for the Stansted Airport Escape Lounge. You will need excellent communication and interpersonal skills and previous experience in a similar role is desirable.

Salary: £10.92 per hour including shift allowance

Hours: Permanent contract – 40 hours per week

Job description:

  • Help the salon team deliver a great salon experience.
  • Ensure the kitchen and all storage areas are kept clean, hygienic and meet all health and safety standards.
  • Washing of all crockery, cutlery and light equipment. Any oversized equipment that will not fit in the dishwasher should be washed in designated sinks using the correct Ecolab chemical.
  • Clean ovens, refrigerators and kitchen floors to operating standards.
  • Ensure crockery, cutlery and equipment are stored properly and floors and emergency exits are clear of obstructions.
  • Monitor all bins to ensure trash is recycled by placing it in the correct bins and adhering to waste policy.
  • Report any maintenance issues
  • Clean up all breakages and spills, following the procedure for use and dispose of them properly.
  • Ensure that only Ecolab chemicals are used for cleaning.
  • Take receipt of all deliveries, ensure that all items arrive and are properly stored by ensuring stock rotation.

Painter and decorator

A painter and decorator is needed at Stansted Airport to carry out a range of tasks throughout the airport. You must be comfortable working at height and have either two years’ experience as a painter-decorator or have completed a qualifying or training course covering painting and/or decoration.

Salary: £23,628.48, rising to £26,168.76 after 3 months probation

Hours: 40 hours per week – Mon-Fri – 8am-4pm

Job description:

  • Undertake planned and reactive painting tasks on STAL facilities ensuring a trouble free operating environment while applying the painting and decorating skills and knowledge required for the task. This includes inspecting assets that require painting, assessing and reporting on required work, and carrying out that work.
  • Inspect and refinish wall surfaces to determine repair techniques needed and determine the most cost effective method to achieve a durable, quality finish.
  • Execute work to a high standard and be able to apply protective and decorative paint surfaces according to instructions, using various tools and following Material Safety Data Sheet.
  • Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper filling cracks and holes with the appropriate material.
  • Operate and promote work practices that ensure a safe working environment for self and others, contributing to the development of a culture of safety and complying with mandatory safety regulations and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and co-workers of the building maintenance team on work progress.

airport ambassador

Stansted Airport is looking for people to be the “face of the airport”. You will host the entrance to security screening areas, preparing customers and their items for presentation to boarding pass readers and x-rays. Ambassadors will also assist with queue management and help passengers load trays ready for security checks.

Salary: £11.97 per hour increasing to £13.26 after 3 months probation – includes 17.5% shift allowance

Hours: 20 hours per week. The list includes a choice of earlys only or lates only

Job description:

  • Greet entry to security screening areas, prepare customers and their items for presentation to boarding pass readers and x-rays.
  • Assist clients through the immigration hall, including queue management and E-gate support
  • Queue management to ensure safety lanes are fully utilized.
  • Help customers load trays
  • Ensure flow remains compliant with safety regulations.
  • Provide professional, timely and accurate information to our customers.
  • Ensure that all specified service standards are maintained and that customers receive excellent customer service throughout the endpoint security process in a safe and efficient manner
  • Social assistance to the client by providing first aid and liaison with emergency services.
  • Provide empathy and assurance to customer issues.
  • Meet and greet customers at key touchpoints throughout their journey.

Forecast and Resources Assistant

The airport says: “This role will be critical in integrating new forecasting tools and back-ups for the Forecasting Analyst as needed. This role will also be responsible for performing ad hoc analysis for the Head of Flight Planning operations and resources and to provide ad hoc support for the extended team.”

Salary: £27,378.24 rising to £30,348.48
