PMKVY Qualified Candidates to Get Preference in Goa Airport Jobs

The Goa government will force developers of the Mopa airport under construction to give priority in jobs to people who have been certified under Prime Minister Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY).

The announcement was made by State Minister of Social Affairs Vishwajit Rane on Thursday at the inauguration of the PMKVY program in Goa.

Rane said a resolution would be proposed by the state cabinet to implement the decision, adding that students certified under the PMKVY will be tracked by state departments even after they pass out until such time. that they get a job.

PMKVY is a flagship vocational training program for young people implemented by the Union Department of Skills Development and Entrepreneurship through the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

Rane also said state-run industrial training institutes (ITIs) would drop their current program and choose a new one to ensure students have better chances of getting jobs.

ITIs would teach courses related to aviation as well as the healthcare sector, added Rane, who also holds the healthcare portfolio.

The state government would also seek to partner with foreign universities for new courses, he said.
