Nighttime curfew guidelines in urban Odisha changed, see details


Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s government changed nighttime curfew restrictions from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. in all urban areas of the state by exempting several activities after a day of publication of the Covid-19 guidelines for January.

According to some sources, the Special Commissioner for Relief (SRC) has listed activities for which the nighttime curfew restrictions will not apply in a notification.

Here are the activities that are exempt:

• District and municipal administration / police / government officials on duty

• Doctors, medical / paramedical personnel (government and private), ambulances and emergency health personnel

• Emergency workers in utilities such as electricity, fire departments, telecommunications, water supply, railways and the airport

• Print and electronic media identified by the district police station / police

• Circulation of public transport, private vehicles and taxis (including taxis from aggregators like Ola, Uber, etc.) to and from airports, train station and bus terminals / stations / stops, to facilitate the movement of passengers. passengers by plane, train, and road.

• Staff of IT & ITeS companies on production of their identity cards

• Early warning agencies, including IMD

• Disaster management establishments

• No restrictions will apply to COVID testing and vaccination centers and movement of people / vehicles for COVID testing and vaccination will be permitted.

• All government and private offices / establishments dealing with essential services / utility providers such as electricity, telecommunications, water supply, police, municipal services, rail / airport / port services and security , etc. will remain functional.

• All commercial establishments, including essential items, food and vegetable stores, excluding all drug / pharmaceutical / medical device / optical etc. stores. must remain closed

• Anyone, in the event of a medical or other emergency

• Pharmacy owner / staff

• All industrial units

• All construction activities

• Operation of hotels and hospitality units, including their associated offices, movement of staff and associated personnel

• Dhabas along national and national highways / main roads take out only

• Petrol pumps and CNG stations

• Distribution of LPG, home delivery of cooking gas and associated installations, circulation of personnel and vehicles

• Home delivery of food, groceries, vegetables, eggs, fish, meat, milk and other essentials by restaurants and aggregators such as Zomato, Swiggy, OPOLFED, OMFED, Chilika Fresh , etc.
