Sanitation infrastructure innovates

West Zone Concessionaire Maynilad Water Services Inc., in conjunction with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Parañaque Local Government, and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) recently inaugurated the installation of a sewer interception line that will capture wastewater generated by Estero de Tripa de Gallina communities, helping to reduce the pollutant load of waterways flowing into Manila Bay.

In addition to the installation of this sewer line, Maynilad will also maintain, through regular emptying, the common septic tank that the DENR and the UGL of Parañaque will build for the use of more than 1,800 people living along the estero.

In attendance at the groundbreaking were Maynilad officials led by President and CEO Ramoncito Fernandez and Chief Operating Officer Randolph Estrellado (10th and 8th from left, respectively), Parañaque Mayor Eric Olivares (7th from left), Rep. Edwin Olivares (9th from left) and DENR. officials led by Assistant Secretary Gilbert Gonzales (6th from left).

This project is part of Maynilad’s efforts to support the ongoing “Adopt an Estero” project of the Manila Bay Rehabilitation Program.


95 Clark locators attend IEC 2022 seminar

Representatives from various locators in this freeport attended the Information and Education Campaign (IEC) 2022 seminar led by Clark Development Corporation (CDC) at the Clark Marriott Hotel, the first time the event has taken place. will be held face-to-face since 2018, the CDC’s External Affairs Department (EAD) said.

CDC President and CEO Manuel R. Gaerlan said, “It has been over two years since the pandemic and we have seen a lot of challenges, we have to make a lot of adjustments… (in) our systems and procedures,” he said.

“Restriction or not, we continued our mandate to provide vital information, updates on the latest notices, policies and guidelines implemented by our partner agencies,” Gaerlan added.

Meanwhile, CDC Vice Chairman for Administration and Finance Engr. Mariza O. Mandocdoc assured locators to provide better services with simplified requirements for their businesses and workers in Clark.

“We really believe that … we should collaborate (with government agencies) to be able to comply with government regulations so that we can take care of the best assets of the organization – who are our employees,” she said.

Launch of the first Ligtas kit

PLDT and its wireless unit Smart Communications Inc., in collaboration with the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF), are releasing the first-ever PLDT-Smart Ligtas kit to kick off this year’s National Disaster Resilience Month.

The PDRF is the Philippines’ primary private sector vehicle and disaster resilience coordinator.
