If you are dreaming of a trip to Myanmar, it is advisable to check for the latest tourist visa updates before packing your bags.
Keeping in mind the low rate of Covid-19 infection cases in the Southeast Asian country, the Myanmar Foreign Ministry has decided to make some changes to tourist visa applications. Tourists must provide proof of full vaccination, a color photo not older than three months, and a passport that does not expire within the next six months.
Under the new guidelines, if a visa applicant’s children are under the age of seven, they must mention the child’s name and date of birth in the minor section of the application form on the same passport.
According to the ministry, tourists are only allowed to enter the country with a single visa. If they wish to return, they must complete an application for a new visa. Tourists are allowed to stay for a maximum of 28 days – counting begins on the day of arrival in Myanmar.
Currently, tourists can enter if they present the documents mandated by the Ministry of Health. And they will only be allowed to enter Myanmar through Yangon International Airport.
