A Heathrow airport hotel has been compared to a “prison” after a guest quarantined for 10 days after arriving from a Red List country shared his experiences on TikTok.
The TikTok user, who goes by @ kamsworldoffashion35, is staying at the Crowne Plaza London Heathrow T4 after landing at Heathrow earlier this week.
Current government law states that anyone arriving in the UK from a Red List country must self-quarantine in a government-approved hotel for 10 days at their own expense at £ 1,750 per person.
In the TikTok video, which has been seen nearly 500,000 times, the woman tells her followers that guests staying at the hotel are allowed to leave their rooms to exercise in the locked parking lot for 20 minutes a day.
In the video, many people can be seen walking around the parking lot alone, although a man is wearing shorts and a t-shirt and jogging around the parking lot.
“This is where people come for the air,” the woman said in the video.
“It’s a closed area. People can leave their rooms for 20 minutes.
“Security brings them to this area and then you can walk here for 20 minutes.
“Get some fresh air, then go back to your room.”
After the exercise, the woman says that the guests are then escorted to their rooms by a security guard.
In the video, the woman shows the moment a security guard escorts her into an elevator and goes back to her room.
“Escorted to the room. The goal is to quarantine yourself in the room,” said the woman.
“The staff are very nice and helpful. They do their best to make people feel comfortable during these difficult times !!”
The woman explains in the video that she is always escorted out of her room because she is “not allowed to go anywhere on her own”.
In an earlier video, the woman shows when she checked into Crowne Plaza and says she has to pay £ 1,750 to stay for 10 days during the quarantine period.
It is not known where the woman traveled from, although she admits that she traveled from a Red List country.
As you might expect, hundreds of people viewed the comments section of the video – many in disbelief at what they saw.
One of them said: “It reminds me of walking dead. “
“Why is it like a prison? Another asked.
A third said: “Vibes of prison.”
A number of people have also questioned why the woman had been abroad in the first place.
“It wouldn’t happen if you didn’t go on vacation,” one said.

A second added: “I’m sorry for the security guards. They put their lives at risk for vacationers.”
The woman who posted the video appeared to explain that she wanted to educate others about what goes on during quarantine in a hotel.
One person commented: “Why do people feel like she’s complaining? To me it seems like she’s just showing us what it is and the precautions taken.”
The post agreed and said, “Thank you dear for explaining this.”
