On the occasion of Independence Day, motor vehicle traffic in the direction of Savar will be restricted on Saturday (March 26).
Dhaka Metropolitan Police has issued a traffic directive for city residents ahead of Independence Day on March 26.
The DMP Commissioner issued the traffic directive and said that public and private transport have been advised to make detours when traveling from Dhaka to Savar, Aricha-Paturia to Dhaka and Tangail to Dhaka between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Saturday.
He said the detours are necessary to accommodate a high volume of traffic in the region as the president, prime minister, cabinet members, other important personalities, political leaders, diplomats and different organizations will travel to the Jatiya Sriti Shoudho to pay rich tributes to the martyrs. .
As per DMP instructions, vehicles will be restricted on the Gabtoli-Amin Bazar Bridge and Savar-Nabinagar Road roads. Dhaka Airport Road-Abdullahpur Crossing-Ashulia Road route can be used as an alternative.
Those traveling from Aricha-Paturia to Dhaka via the Savar-Amin Bazar route should use the Nabinagar Bazar-Bypile-Ashulia route to enter Dhaka instead.
On the other hand, those traveling to Dhaka from Tangail via Ashulia should use the route through Kaliakair-Gazipur-Tongi.
Besides, the prime minister, other ministers, military, diplomats and prominent freedom fighters are also due to visit President Abdul Hamid in Bangabhaban on Saturday.
