New Delhi, April 14 (IANS): The Delhi government will issue Covid guidelines for schools amid a steady rise in new Covid infections, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Thursday
A general Covid guideline will be issued for schools, Sisodia, who also holds the education portfolio, told a news conference.
He said Covid cases had risen slightly in Delhi but added there was no cause for concern.
“Covid cases have increased slightly but there is no increase in hospitalizations so we don’t have to worry. There is no need to panic but stay alert. We have to learn to live with it. Covid. We are constantly monitoring the situation,” Sisodia said.
His comments came amid reports that a pupil and teacher at a private school in Delhi tested positive for Covid earlier today.
“I have received reports from a few schools over the past few days where parents have informed that their child has tested positive. The Ministry of Education will issue guidelines tomorrow (Friday) to schools in this regard,” added Sisodia.
Meanwhile, the capital reported 299 new Covid cases on Wednesday, an increase of almost 50% from the previous day.
