Ms. King began her Clark County career in 1986 as a part-time employee collecting tolls at McCarran International Airport (now Harry Reid International Airport).

As County Executive, Ms. King led Clark County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In doing so, Ms. King’s top priority was to keep Clark County employees safe while providing vital services and support to area residents, organizations and community partners. During this crucial period, the county’s financial stability was critical. With a quick adaptability, Ms. King led the creation of programs within weeks to quickly and efficiently deliver services such as housing support and other social and family services.
Ms. King helped the county through the tragic events of October 1, both immediately after the shooting and future needs to support resilience. Ms. King is responsible for creating the broadband master plan for the region to provide connectivity and digital literacy to the underserved, provided unprecedented support to address homelessness in the region and helped to Inaugurating historic funding for the creation of affordable housing services for families, seniors and working residents of Clark County. Additionally, Ms. King has set the county on the path to becoming a top-notch workplace and launched an employee engagement campaign that will nurture a new generation of public servants.
