CLARK CRK International Airport is now ready for the influx of passengers from South Korea.
LIPAD, which operates CRK, released the statement after South Korea announced that it now allows visa-free entry through Yangyang International Airport from New Clark Airport.
CRK passengers will soon have a direct flight to YNY, according to LIPAD. South Korea’s low-cost airline, Fly Gangwon, will operate these flights from June 25. Clark is Fly Gangwon’s first Philippine destination and only operates in CRK.
Travelers arriving through Yangyang International Airport can visit Gangwon and downtown Seoul for up to 15 days under the Restricted Visa Waiver Program and must travel in groups of at least 5 or travel with 15 passengers for a cheaper package through a designated travel agency.
LIPAD said Filipinos’ interest in Korean culture has obviously skyrocketed in recent years and South Korea has become a dream tourist destination for many Filipinos. Flying to Yangyang International Airport will give Filipinos the opportunity to experience the South Korean countryside, including Naksan Beach and bustling city life with direct access to Incheon.
LIPAD said this visa waiver program has been reinstated after being suspended for more than two years due to the pandemic.
Now that COVID-19 cases are dwindling in South Korea, the country has decided to ease its border restrictions by exempting fully vaccinated visitors from mandatory quarantine starting June 1, 2022, the operator said. Clark Airport.
LIPAD said Clark Airport’s new terminal is more than ready to handle the influx of passengers. Travel restrictions, not only in Korea, but also in other countries, have eased. Passengers from North Luzon, Metro Manila and other areas can access the airport through available point-to-point arrangements and other transportation alternatives.
The CRK terminal is equipped with contactless systems. Self-service check-in kiosks and self-service baggage counters are installed in the new terminal.
