Reporting to the Senior Controller, the Airport Controller will be responsible for the planning and operation of airport area processes and facilities.

The worker will be responsible for the assignment of aircraft parking positions and the use of safe work systems provided and maintained by the airfield management team.

The role also includes operating the centralized communications hub, ensuring that the airport control center is aware of any airside or landside operational issues affecting airport performance.

Primary duties include operating internal systems such as gate controls, CCTV and flight information to ensure passenger flows are maintained and departures are made on time.

Payroll Coordinator

Reporting to the Payroll Manager and working as an integral member of the airport HR team, the Payroll Coordinator will support the airport’s monthly payroll activities.

The employee will also proactively support the HR team in implementing the HR strategy for the airport.

The primary responsibility of the position will be to work closely with the Payroll Manager to process monthly payrolls – previous payroll administration experience would therefore be highly desirable, as well as general HR experience.

Primary duties include accurately entering monthly payroll and benefits information within agreed timeframes, assisting with payroll calculations, preparing and submitting payroll reports and responding to calls, emails and face-to-face employee salary inquiries.

Basis: Part-time

Salary: £23,365 per year

Terminal Operations Coordinator

The role of the Terminal Operations Coordinator is to act as a facilitator and provide support to the Terminal Operations team.

Providing support for contract administration, terminal appearance, customer service, communications and general office support are all key parts of the role.

The incumbent will ensure that health and safety is at the forefront of the terminal operations philosophy.

Primary duties include acting as terminal appearance coordinator, including monitoring work through CMMS and performing weekly terminal audits with a particular focus on passenger journeys.

They also include establishing work and purchase orders as well as budget administration and future budget planning, as well as administering identification center requirements for airport security passes.

Grounds Maintenance Technician

The primary focus of this interesting role is to perform grounds and habitat maintenance activities in and around the airport areas.

Much of the work is done outdoors and involves manual handling and use of equipment, for which comprehensive training is provided.



This important work focuses on the maintenance and preservation of habitat and grounds in accordance with regulatory and local habitat and wildlife requirements.

The role encompasses various general maintenance activities, within an organization that offers an excellent career opportunity for the right person.

Reporting to the Grounds Maintenance Supervisor, this job includes support functions for both summer and winter operations.

The employee will be required to undergo training to operate a wide range of vehicles, equipment and facilities associated with agricultural, maintenance and snow removal work.

Resource Scheduler

The Resource Planner is responsible for creating and administering crew rosters within the Terminal Operations department.

Reporting to the Resource Manager, the worker will work closely with the extended capacity team to translate airline schedules into passenger demand profiles and for use in the registration system.

Key duties include creating seasonal rosters and producing individual rosters, ensuring that any gaps in the supply of personnel are filled, and analyzing and presenting relevant data to meet resource requirements in the operational budgets.

Aviation security officer

The Aviation Security Officer will report to the Chief Security Officer, performing aviation security duties at Birmingham Airport.

This role reflects the exceptional customer service skills required to ensure passengers, staff and crew have a safe, secure and efficient passage in an efficient and friendly environment.

Primary responsibilities include controlling access to restricted areas of the airport, verifying security identity and boarding passes, responding to emergency incidents following agreed procedures, and executing escort duties, including special events if required.



The person will also advise passengers, staff and crew on the proper presentation of people and items carried to ensure people are fully prepared for security screening, and will also conduct foot patrols of operational areas and designated routes.
