World’s Best Low-Cost Airline Performs Optimal Operations to Welcome New Year with Increased Flight Frequencies

Manila, December 30, 2021 – AirAsia Philippines is ready to serve customers returning home from long vacations by increasing the frequency of its flights and reopening key hubs to meet high demand.

The world’s best low-cost airline opens in 2022 with a busier schedule. From January 1, 2022, AirAsia Philippines is increasing the frequency of flights to Caticlan (34 times per week) and Kalibo (8 times per week), Iloilo (10 times per week), Tacloban (28 times per week), Tagbilaran (11 times per week), Puerto Princesa (now daily), Bacolod (11x per week) and Davao (twice per day).

International flights include to / from Singapore (every Saturday), Hong Kong (every second Sunday of the month) and Kuala Lumpur (5 times a week) which is operated by AirAsia Malaysia (flight code AK).

The airline is also announcing the reopening of its Clark International Airport hub with the Clark-Caticlan flight 3 times a week which will begin on January 2, 2022.

Steve Dailisan, spokesperson for AirAsia Philippines said: “Many of our customers are still enjoying last minute travel opportunities after being sidelined by the recent typhoon. We expect thefts to increase as people return home from vacations. some key destinations to meet growing demand. ”

The additional flight frequency for January 2022 is almost 41% of pre-pandemic levels. Meanwhile, the average load factor over the holiday period has increased to a healthy high of 91-95%.

AirAsia reminds its customers to be at the airport at least 3-4 hours before their scheduled flight and to prepare their travel needs in advance to allow check-in procedures to run smoothly.
