GoClark Sports & Events, RLC Residences and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) have teamed up to host the largest triathlon race in New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac where approximately 700 triathletes across the country are expected to compete.
The RLC Residences New Clark City Triathlon will take place on September 25, marking the return of multi-sport activity to the world-class sports complex, following its inaugural race in October 2019.
“When we held the first New Clark City Triathlon in October 2019, we were impressed with the magnificent structures that were built for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games,” said Jumbo Tayag, Race Director. sport from GoClark.
We were commissioned to test the facilities as part of the preparation for the regional games. Then the pandemic arrived and all sporting events were suspended. This year we are phasing in events while helping to get sports tourism back to where it was before the pandemic,” he said.
“The RLC Residences New Clark City Triathlon is our seventh race this year since the government allowed us to hold events last April. We are grateful to be able to host events that cater to people with active lifestyles,” Tayag said.
“We share the same values with RLC Residences, and with their support attendees should expect a high quality event and a racing experience like no other,” he added.
The 2022 New Clark City Triathlon will feature all of the world-class facilities of the New Clark City National Government Administrative Center (NGAC).
The New Clark City Long Triathlon’s signature category will include a 900-meter swim in the FINA-approved Aquatic Center, a two-lap 50-kilometer bike course that runs through Clark International Airport to the new access from Clark City with a view of the Zambales mountainous landscape, as well as a 12 kilometer run around the New Clark City Athletic Stadium.
Triathletes will be greeted at the finish chute inside the Aquatic Center with a crowd of friends, family and cheering supporters.
